Minnesota diary 3

August 9
Today, I awake up 6:00a.m, so I was sleepy. I had break fasts and my host mother called to me. We watched saturday’s storm on TV news. It was a big storm. But I wasn’t awake come to storm. I went to school, took 4 classes. Today’s class was all inside. First of all, I took ESL. We excited to talk about weekend. My friends went to the circus, the lake and did jet ski etc. Next, I took a Japanese in America. Prof. Naomi Duffy born in Kagoshima, and stay in Minnesota now. She is good at speaking English, but spoke Japanese. She participates in home stay program and Rikkyo student lives there. I was jealous. My classmate questioned a lot of thing. This class was fun. Then, I had lunch. Yui, Eri and I brought rice to school, so we cooked it. It was very delicious. And we met American’s student. He spoke Japanese a little. He studied Japanese for 3 months, but he is good at speaking it. I was surprised. And he went to Nagasaki to trip school, and his age is 22 years old. I was enjoyed time.
I backed to home, and today’s dinner was BLT sandwich. My host family and Yui’s host family had it. It was very delicious. My host mother said “BLT sandwich is easy cooking.”. Then, I made photo book. I picked photo, thought page designs, sticked photo eat. I was fun!


August 10
Today I was very sleepy, so I was tired. We played game. It was “BUNKO” and interesting game. I won 5 times, but I couldn’t give the prize. When I backed home, it was storm. The heavy rained, and I couldn’t see front. Today’s dinner was macaroni cheese and bread. I ate three dishes. After that, Veronica and I made a scrap book. We made 5 pages today. I was enjoyed time! Kim bought a new car, and it’s color was wine red. It was so cute. I wanted to buy my car. I was jealous.



August 11
I went to the Oliver Kelly History Farm. Today it was too hot! There were many fries, so we screamed. Then, we ate some organic vegetables, and watched pigs, cows, chickens and sheeps. But I thought I never will go there. Next, Veronica picked up us school, and Hiromi, Yui, Veronica and I went to picnic. This picnic was Veronica's campany festival. It was so big picnic! There were some games and food corner. I was surprised. Then, we met Hiromi's host family. Her host mother worked at same campany. I ate cotton candy, ice cream and hot dog. After that, Veronica and I watched DVD of Harry Potter.



August 13
We were going to go to fair today, but the strong storm came. Because of that, we went to outlet mall. I wanted to go to shopping, so I was glad! We went to many stores. I surprised that TOMMY HILFIGER and CORCH were cheep. The price of America is chepper than that of Japan. I bought my father's shirt of TOMMY. I enjoyed shopping time.



August 14
Today I wake up 8:00 a.m. and Veronica, Jenny and I went to a dog park. Today’s dog park was different park. We walked course, but the course was main of cycling and runner. So we walked different road. There were many insect and glasses, and it was too hot! We walked 5 miles　(about 5 kilo maters). It was so good exercise. Then, we made scrap book, and had a lunch. Today’s lunch was tomato soup, and toast sandwich. My host mother said “This is formal American lunch.” After that we went to river with Kim and Yui. There is a first place in Minnesota, and beautiful city. A lot of people hanged out. When we were shopping, I bought Key ring of Minnesota, candies and porch. Next, we had dinner to go to restaurant. I ate shrimp cocktail. It was so delicious. We talked about Monday’s dinner. We had a dinner with Yui’s host family on Monday. When next Monday comes, it was last Monday’s dinner. I was sad, and I want to stay here.
I will go to outlet mall, Japanese grocery store and Hiromi’s host family house to play game tomorrow. I will be busy tomorrow!



August 15
Yui, Hiromi, Kim, Veronica and I went to market in the morning. Many people came there and the parking lot was full. I bought two watches. The prise of them was 25 dollar. It was cheep! I ate hot dog and remonade at lunch. After that, we went to outlet mall twice. I don't buy too much at first time, but I buy too much twice. Because of that, I bought many clothes and my family present. I lost money ): ha ha ha! Next, we went to Hiromi's host family house. Susan cooked dinner. We played with children and played soccer. Kim was good at playing soccer, so I was surprised. Then, we had a dinner and played game. I had happy time today.

Minnesota Diary 2

July 30
Q: What do you get when you cross poison Ivy with a four leaf crover?
A: You get a rash of good luck!


We took a ESL, and went to Minnesota History Center. When I watched there, and there were big sign board of the Beatles. They often came to Minnesota. We had a lunch at cafe teria, so I had to pay money. It was difficult for me to pay it. American money resembles. Then, We studied about immigrant. We wathed a lot of displays. For example, big house, Twins goods, school bus etc. I larned about Minnesota. Minnesota is nice state.







July 31 and August 1

It came first weekend, so I was excited! Veronica, Yui, Kim, Deb and I went to a dog park in the morning. Veronica, kim and Deb often went to there with their dogs. They like there. It looked like jungle and it was big park. We walked, so it was good exercise! Then, we went to subway and potter's work. I painted a plate, and I was fun! Next day, we went to a dog park again. I had to get up early, so I was tired. Veronica said "Could you take a nap?", and I took a nap for 6 hours. I overslept. I had enjoy weekend.






August 5
Today I took a ESL. I had a lunch (mashpotatoes, turkeies, bread and yoghurt), and I like it. Then, it was police officer presentation. I was looking forward to taking a class. A police man came. His name was Matt Kennett. He was Mark's son-in-law. He was cool and mascle man. I watched his hungcuff, helmet and pistol etc. He works in same area. But he has never shot a pistol. I took a picture with him, so I was so glad! Next, I played tennis. But I was tired. Yui and Eri were active. Prof. Kamimoto was interesting to move around. In the evening, Yui, Kim, Veronica and I had a dinner. Today's dinner was macaroni cheeze, bread and green beans. Yui and Kim went to watch new cars. We did home work and talked. Today was fun and laughed well.






August 7

It was thanksgiving day! Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States. It was called "Turkey Day". Today, it is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Many friends and family gather. Our host family hold special thanksgiving day. I was looking forward to coming today. Thanksgiving dinner hold in my house. Hiromi, Her host family(Shannon, Susan, Abigail and Annabelle), Yui and Kim came there. I prepared to cooking dinner, and I took care of Children. Abigail is active girl, so I hold her in my arms and chased her. Annabelle is cute girl. Today's dinner was turkey and mash potato etc. It was splendid dinner! We sat at table, and ate dinner. I ate many foods and they were so delicious. I'm staff! Ha ha ha! Then Yui, Hiromi and I told a lot of stories in terrace. Next Kim said "Doumo Arigato", so We surprised. They showed a music videoto us. It was one word of a famous song. Many American know "Doumo Arigato". We laughed. Finally we ate a desert, and They backed to home. I had enjoy time with them!

Minnesota Diary 1

I arrived at Minneapolis airport at noon. I was surprised at there are many foreigners. I met my host mother, Veronica. She hugged me, so I was so glad. I met her friend, Kim. She is Yui's host mother. Kim and Veronica are close friends, and We went out at airport. Then, I saw American buildings, streets, cars and signs for the first time. I was surprised all things. We went to cubs store. There are many foods, snacks and drinks. The milk is so big!!!! We bought many goods. After that, it was welcome picnic. Yui, Eri, Sayano, Rie and I presened the Japanese snacks. Many host families ate Japanese snacks. They said "Good!". But Umaibo is so-so. I enjoyed time.

I got up 6:30 a.m. and ate cereal. American prepared to have break fast themself. American cereal is healthy, not sweet. I liked it. I went to the church, there is ban stop. Jeff was a ban driver. He is a muscle man and tall. I went to Bethel university. BU is so big, and beautiful. It was like a castle. I met Joel and Linda. They were our teather. He was kind, and she was beautiful. I toured at Bethel University. I watched many places. For example, library, cafe teria, class rooms, and gardens. I surprised at gym. When I watched there, I remenberd high school musical. Then, we went to Mississipi river. We rode in ship and cruised. I met a cute boy. His name is Dian. After that, I had dinner with Veronica, Yui and kim. We had a dinner on Monday and Deb came. Deb is a their close friend. We ate smoke salmon and sweet corn. They spreaded butter on corn. It was delicious. Next, I studied Mississippi river. Veronica helped me. I was so g lad. Today was fine day.

I got up 6:30 a.m., and left home 7:15 a.m. Then, I went to Kim's house. Kim, Yui and I had a breakfast. Today I larned about health care, and took the student panel. I met Bethel university students. I questioned them "Do you know Japanese entertainer?". But they didn't know it. I was surprised. I thought Ken Watanabe is a famous actor. I felt that they have to study. They study on weekend. That's great! After that, Veronica, Yui and I went to super market, "Target". This is a big market. I bought long sleeered jacket, so I felt cold during take a class in school. We went to star backs, and drunk a green tea. It was delicious. But Japanese's green tea is different. American's green tea is sweet. American doesn't like bitter.

I goy up 6:45 a.m., and Yui came to my house. We had a breakfast. Veronica cooked bread and scrambled egg. Then, I took ESL and American in Japan. She was good at speaking Japanese. She went to Tokyo and Nagasaki to teach English to Japanese student. She lived by herself in Japan. That's good!!! After that, We went to Jahana lake, and ate KFC. American KFC was crispier than Japanese one. We swim first in this year, so I was happy. Next, Veronica and I went to scrap book store, "Archiver's". This is a famous shop. There are a lot of scrapbook staffs. We were going to make a scrap book. We went to MAC. I ate cheeze hamburgar. I thought American hamburgar was big size. But this was same Japanese size. and we watched Harry Potter durin dinner. We like Harry Potter.

return home!

Hello! What's up? I went back to Japan the day before yesterday. I stayed overnight in Chiba. When I went out in airport, I can't breath a little. So Japan is very hot. I was surprised! I thought want to come back to Minnesota. I staued a room with Yui and Eri. We slept at 10 p.m. but woke up midnight. We thought came to morning. However it was midnight. We shocked. Maybe we had a jet lag.

I went back to Kumamoto yesterday. My mother picked up me at Kumamoto airport. Kumamoto is very hot and very sticky. So I was little tired. I like Minnesota's weather. Minnesota is cool, and blows cool wind. Sometimes comes to storm. Then, we backed to home. I met my family for a long time. I talked about my American memory. Then, I went to downtown to see my friends. We hold welocome & farewell party. Yumie will go to Canada to study abroad, so I was sad. I wish she leads nice trip. I enjoyed time with friends. After that, I slept soon at home.

SUSHI !

Good evening! Now it is 10:53 p.m. in Minnesota. Today is so happy day! I went to school, and took a class. I took lunch with Eri and Yui. We talked a lot of things, and excited. Then, I had to write essay for yearbook. I thought that it is difficult for me to write it. But I finished to write soon. After that Yui, Hiromi and I backed to home, my host mother and Yui's host mother took us to sushi bar. I wanted to eat Japanese foods, so I was so happy. This sushi bar's name is "BENI BARA". There are a lot of people. Any Japanese clerks in here. I ate sushi, sashimi, miso soup, tempura and agedashi doufu. It was very very delicious! We taught host mothers to Japanese greeting, "Douitashimashite". They knew "Arigatou". Then, we went to ice cream shop. This is famous shop. I ate strowberry cheese cake ice cream and I was staffed. We played UNO in my house. I didn't know how to play it, so Veronica taught me. Kim won twice. I was very excited. I will go to country fair, but it will be rainy tomorrow.

canoe

I went to St. Croix river to canoe. I canoed for the first time, and I was excited. My host mother said to me "Wear life jacket, and bring sun screen and mosquito repllant". Our group is Yui, Moririn, and Prof. Kamimoto. We were beginners. First, Yui and Prof rowed. But our canoe couldn't paddle straight, and turned. We took to arrive rest place. Then, we went to floating island and swim. I ate lunch. Today's lunch was chicken salada etc, it made by my host mother. Next, I rowed it. It was fun, but I was little tired.

In the evening, it was picnic dinner with host familys. We had to do skit. Skit was the short conte. Our group was Eri, Yui, Chika and I. My role was a man, and worked for the Minnesota Twins. So I borrowed Twins uniform and cap to Eri's host father, and I wore it. We successed skit. Other group's skit was very funny! Then, I played with children. I was tired, but I was very very fine day★　Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day^^

Minnesota now!

Hello! I stay in Minnesota now. Minnesota is very good state, and has a lot of lakes and natures. Today is hot day. But Kumamoto is hotter than Minnesota. We took ESL, and learned about America government. American citizens have the right to vote at 18, so it is fast. In Japan, we have it to vote 20. United states 3 baranches of government is Legilative, Judicial and Executive. Then, we went to the Old Country Beffet, and eat lunch. There is pizza, chicken, dessert, etc. It was very delicious. I paid chip for the first time. Next, we went to Minnesota State Capitol and St. Paul Cathedel. I looked for offices of the governor, lieutenant governor etc. It was so beautiful. And the cathedral is the home church. The main dome is the largest dome in the world. It is 186 feet high (about 56m) and 97 feet (about 29m) in dimeter. It is so big and I thought it was holy place. Any people prayed there, and there is Blessed Virgin. I backed Kim's home, Yui and I played "ma-bo-". But I lost twice. Then, I backed home, and today's dinner was pizza and salad. I was staffed^^ Today was very happy day!
